So I decided to put forward the effort to try to compile every bit of info I could find on the job supplementing it with my own info as I carried out the procedures. I spent many weeks prepping for this job and I found every source of info seemed to be lacking in some way, shape, or form. I am posting this having just hit 120k and the second oil change since the job with zero issues. The cam cradle, timing covers (both), and spark plug tubes (mainly #3/4 had present oil leaks). The engine had the old style tensioner and was showing about 4-5 teeth. The car is a 2012 B8 A4 Quattro 6MT and had 111k miles when the job was completed. Hey guys, recently completed the timing chain job and resealed my cam cradle on my B8. ![]()
